Co-op City, Bronx, NY: Co-op City is the
largest cooperative housing development in the world located in
the Bay Chester section of the Borough of the Bronx in northeast
New York City.
Alliance Environmental has teamed
with the Gaia Institute and Liro Architects to conduct a
feasibility study on water resource and landscape management
alternatives to improve the appearance of the grounds and
enhance property values for its residents. Strategies being
explored include rainwater capture, wastewater treatment and
recycling and landscaping with indigenous plants. |

The Visionaire, Battery Park City, NY: New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) – Energy aspects of water reuse are being researched here. The Visionaire is currently being constructed in the south neighborhood of Battery park City, NY by the Albanese Organization. The 35-story, 251-unit condominium tower has been designed and engineered to target LEED Platinum certification. Alliance Environmental
received a grant from NYSERDA to conduct research on the energy
consumption and overall optimization of the water reuse system,
specifically with regards to the cooling system aspect.
